Culture

Cultural activities are plentiful, with galleries, concert halls, theatres and cinemas available in abundance. Warm summer evenings often mean that cultural experiences can be enjoyed in the open air. A cosmopolitan mix of pubs, clubs, markets and festivals are available all year round. Quite simply, there is something for everyone.

Multicultural

Perth was originally established by free settlers from Britain in 1829. Over the decades, migrants from Europe, the Middle East, Asia and Africa arrived in Perth seeking freedom and economic independence, and in the process opened up this huge State. Building on the heritage of Australia's indigenous peoples, Western Australia is now one of the most tolerant and multicultural places in the world. A walk down the streets of the restaurant precincts in Perth is like sampling multiculturalism on a plate!
