About Us

The evolution of primary, secondary, vocational and tertiary education in WA has created a system internationally recognised for its quality and excellence. Perth has a well-earned reputation as an 'Education City', offering courses every year to over 36,000 international students seeking university degrees, vocational qualifications, secondary and primary education, foundation and pathway courses and English language skills.

Perth Education City (PEC), a peak body funded under a joint industry government initiative, is a unique consortium of Perth's leading private and public universities, colleges and schools which provide education services to the international community. PEC is strongly supported by the WA State Government through the WA Department of Industry & Resources and the WA Department of Education and Training.

Although competitors within the industry, PEC members come together in a spirit of collaboration and synergy to market Perth and its educational services. PEC originated in 1987 when interested institutions identified a need to meet and discuss issues of common interest in regards to international education. Over time, more institutions expressed an interest in the group and in 1996 a registered association with its own secretariat was launched. PEC aims to raise the profile of Perth, both as a destination and a provider of high quality educational services. Currently its members enrol upwards of 96% of all international students recruited to study in Western Australia
